A little bit of history...……
Andrea Bird and Daniel Beirne opened The Hive encaustic school and gallery in July of 2010.
Thousands of students have been through the hive during those years, and many have gone on to teach. It has become a place of joyful creativity and community.
They are so happy to have had those years in the Alton Mill, teaching and connecting... and now pass on their best wishes to us, the new managers.
The Hive Encaustic studio is located in the stunning, historical Alton Mill in Caledon ON. It is the working studio for myself and encaustic artist Karen Brown. We regularly host workshops, open studio's, 'Give it a Whirl' sessions and so much more. The Hive is generally open Wednesday-Sunday 11am-4pm but I do recommend calling ahead if you are making a special trip. For Hive workshops and for more information please visit www.thehiveencausticstudio.com
Encaustic Supplies are now available at The Hive! Locally sourced beeswax, encaustic medium, encaustic paint, irons, stylus tool, and more.
Check out 'workshops' to learn more about my upcoming workshop opportunities both at The Hive and throughout Ontario
The Hive is a wonderfully versatile studio in a beautiful setting, and we welcome inquires from artists, makers, and creators looking for a space to host a workshop or event.
If you are an established encaustic artist and would like to teach a workshop at The Hive, we would love to hear from you!
